PSYCHOTHERAPY
Psychotherapy offers a space to talk with a professionally trained therapist, face to face, on a weekly basis about issues which are affecting your emotional, mental and behavioural well-being.
Being able to share and reflect what’s on your mind can bring relief and inner contentment, whilst equipping you with the internal resilience to cope with what struggles life may bring in the future.
The foundation of my Psychotherapy work is ‘psychodynamic‘ and based on the principle that early life experiences may have influenced and shaped our current emotional thinking, relating and behaviour patterns in the present; often in ways which we are not consciously aware of.
These patterns may cause a sense of confusion, anger and distress which ultimately prevent us from leading a content and fulfilling life experience.
Our work together leads to developing greater self-awareness and understanding, allowing you to recognise and anticipate self-destructive behaviour.
This can lead to having more choice over your actions and decisions in the here and now and ultimately feeling life is more manageable and satisfying.
Psychotherapy sessions are usually conducted weekly or twice weekly, face to face may be ‘open-ended’ or ‘time-limited’ depending on the presenting issues.
An initial intake assessment begins the process of exploring your present situation and discussing your needs in a relaxed environment, before moving onto regular weekly appointments thereafter.
